Ofcom publishes guidance on avoiding summer holiday "bill shock"
Ofcom has published a reasonably informative guide for those concerned about taking their phone away with them on holiday. The guide advises users to plan ahead, think about using Wi-Fi and keep an eye on what their children are doing, to avoid unexpectedly high bills.

ITU Radio Regulations 2012
The regulation of spectrum is not something which comes up in any depth in the eLLM, although David talks about it briefly in his Telecoms Policy module.
I was doing some research about the role of Europe in spectrum allocation and usage, and whether a more centralised approach might be beneficial to the establishment of a single market for communications in Europe, and found that the ITU is offering for free a download of its 2012 Radio Regulations (registration required). (The hard copy of the regulations is about £280.)
The Radio Regulations are part of the ITU Administrative Regulations, and are legally binding on all Member States (approximately 190 of them), often used as a basis for national legislation on radio matters.

Competition raids in Europe over interconnection
There are quite a few reports, mostly scant on detail, about raids earlier this week on communications providers in Europe. The gist seems to be that a complaint has been made over certain providers' interconnection, possibly peering, practices.
The best report I have read so far is on Bloomberg, and it is worth taking a quick look.

Roaming regulation: wholesale and retail price caps
I have been doing some thinking about the roaming regulation, and ended up pulling together some information spread across the 2007, 2009 and 2012 regulations about wholesale and retail price capping.
